First Week Update

We had a wonderful first week! Our scholars innovated structures in an Oil Derrick Design Challenge using the Engineering Design Process. Paired with this design process, our scholars learned about the Writing Design Process that will be used this year to support writing instruction. Students also worked to organize our substantial classroom library by looking up reading levels and genres for each and every book on Book Wizard. Several students even volunteered their time after school to complete this challenge! Thank you to parents who helped make this happen! Finally, our scholars were introduced to the GCISD Book Challenge that they will be working towards completing this school year. This letter from our GCISD Humanities director will be sent home with students on Monday.
