Free Verse Poetry

Scholars recently used Carl Sandburg's poem "Fog" to examine how he uses a metaphor to create imagery.

Fog

The fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

They then wrote free verse poems about nature using metaphors.

Finally, they added line breaks and stanzas to their poems, and they chose fonts, text colors, pictures, and paper colors that best represented their topics.

The poems are now on display outside of our classroom. Be sure to check them out at Open House!

Electrical Engineering Unit: Schematic Diagrams Practice

Check out this awesome website that scholars explored on Monday! While a few electrical symbols differ from what we've used in our class, scholars did a great job figuring them out and completing the circuits! According to the website, scholars can use this site to:

•    Match electrical symbols to pictures
•    Recognise a complete circuit  from drawings and diagrams
•    Construct circuit diagrams using appropriate symbols
•    Understand how a switch can control devices in series and parallel circuits.
