Mind Mission: Flag for Freedom

Scholars did a fantastic job completing a Mind Mission design challenge this week in Social Studies! They also created a Keynote on their iPads to show how they used the Engineering Design Process. Check out their final designs below!

Mission: After the Battle of Gonzales, Texas was at war! They did not want to fly the Mexican flag. The “Come and Take It” flag was only appropriate for the Battle of Gonzales. What will they fly? How will they fly? Can your group design an original flag for the Texans and a way to carry it into battle so that their enemy can read it?

Materials: 8 craft sticks, 24 inches of tape, 6 note cards, 4 rubber bands, 4 sheets of paper, 4 straws, markers
