Final Performances!

Scholars did an excellent job performing their plays! There are two "versions" of each play (recorded on iPads) to ensure a successful recording. They also evaluated the performances of other groups!

Learning Objectives - Week 18

Reading:

I can fluently read and perform a play.
I can identify similarities and differences between texts.

Writing:
I can revise a story by choosing details that support a controlling idea.

This week:
Tuesday - Texas Rangers players visit Cannon 
Thursday - Reading MAP test
Friday - Spelling Test

Yearbook Orders

The last day to order yearbooks online for $18 is this Tuesday, Jan. 15. We will continue to take orders later, but the cost will go up to $20.

Dramatic Literature

Scholars have been improving their reading fluency by performing plays! See videos below of scholars reading lines and working together to prepare their plays! They also evaluated example performance rubrics to come up an Evaluation Rubric for their final performance on Monday.

Scholastic Book Orders

 

Scholars have received three Scholastic Book catalogs to take home and look through. As always, if scholars bring their completed order forms with a check, I will be happy to send the orders at the end of the month.

Istation

Be sure to check out Istation! This week, scholars tried out this wonderful state-funded Reading computer program in class! Ask your scholars about it, and I bet they will tell you how AWESOME this Reading program is!

Information is also available on how to view your scholar's progress and access reports/other resources by logging in to the Istation parent portal.

I will send home letters about Istation, and scholars will tape their login information to their Student Calendar/Planner by the end of this week.
