Geometry Golf Designs and Interviews
As we concluded our Geometry Golf project, our scholars spent time creating procedural videos of their putt putt courses, and each student received a golf ball from the Grapevine Golf Course. I'm so proud of all of our scholars' hard work in designing and creating these courses that were enjoyed by so many students on Field Day!

Author Kathryn Gibbs Davis visits Cannon
Scholars were so excited to receive a special visit from Kathryn Gibbs Davis, author of Mr. Ferris and His Wheel! She spoke about how Mr. Ferris dreamed big and followed the Engineering Design Process to design the Chicago Wheel, the first ferris wheel, in 1893. She also answered students' questions about her books and about being an author. Thank you to the PTA for providing this wonderful experience for our students!
Scholars were challenged to create theme park rides or attractions using recycled materials, and our fourth graders really showcased their creativity and innovative ideas!

Geometry Golf Adventure at Field Day
All week, scholars have been diligently working to complete their Geometry Golf obstacles in my classroom. This was definitely a team effort, with the fourth graders sharing materials and with several wonderful parents and teachers volunteering their time to help out! Their hard work paid off today as K-5 students enjoyed playing on the putt putt courses as a Field Day event! Check out the pictures below to see their progress, including constructing their perimeters, creating obstacles, setting up in the library, designing a team flag, and playing the putt putt courses during Field Day!
