Today in class!

Scholars participated in their first guidance lesson with Mrs. Coburn, our guidance counselor at Cannon. They discussed self-esteem, appreciating our differences, and how to encourage their classmates! In class, scholars continued to work with their Texas Teams to create a Google Slides about the four regions of Texas. They also used Reading Rainbow book reviews as inspiration to create mini book reviews for fables. Scholars practiced summarizing, explaining the lesson, and connecting to their fable using the Morfo App!

In other news, we hope to see you tonight at Technology Night (5:30-7:30pm)!

Week 2 Update

We had a fantastic week! Our scholars learned about maps, participated in the Cannon Library orientation, and continued to practice their reading skills in class. Excitement was in their air when scholars revisited past writing in their Cumulative Writing Folders (see pictures below) to reflect on how far we have come as writers. We will use these folders again as we analyze their third grade writing and discuss expectations for first draft writing in fourth grade next week!
